Check-in is usually early afternoon; the boat cruises the main backwater channels through the afternoon and evening, anchoring for the night in a quieter stretch. Lunch, evening tea/snacks, dinner and breakfast are cooked on board by the boat's own crew, and check-out is mid-morning the next day.
Is one night on a houseboat enough, or should I book two?
One night is standard and enough to experience the backwaters properly, since the boat covers most of its route in the afternoon and next morning. A second night mainly adds relaxation time rather than new scenery.
